This is a character I made based on a story my sister told me about a pigeon who got onto her train. She claimed that the pigeon kept on flying into a particular man's lap, because he was a pigeon wizard. My character starts out as an ordinary man until one day he starts being followed by pigeons. Hilarity ensues. I'm in the process of making a short film with this character. I'll keep you updated.
"I'm an insect who dreamt he was a man and loved it. But now the dream is over... and the insect is awake." - The Fly (1986). I am practicing some After Effects and decided to make a short motion graphic to this quote. [embed]http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zHEFPDjtvc[/embed]
So, I've stayed away from it for years, but I am now trying to delve into the mysterious ciaos that is Tumblr. I will still be posting here of course, but feel free to follow me on my Tumblr as well. The stuff I post there might be rougher and less finished than some of the things I post here. More works in progress and funny gifs. Should be more soon so be sure to check it out!
I updated my demo reel with some of the work I have been doing this semester. I hope you enjoy it! Some of the shots are from our student film "Nautia" which will be showing in film festivals soon. After we put it in festivals it should be available online as well. I'll let you know when that happens.

I designed this character based off a description I received from my friend Emmett. She was described as a 13 year old swamp witch living in the Southern U.S. She is not very good at magic yet and has a bullfrog as a friend. You should check out Emmett's site! He has some awesome character design and animation!
Me and some of my fellow students (Laura Mansfield, Renée Taylor, Kaylee Shmiley, Matt Wydick, and Matt Singer) are working on character concepts for our made-up TV show called "Reaper Control". It would be a comedy about a struggling grim reaper who has been demoted to collecting the souls of animals. I am in the process of exploring some concepts for the dog trainer that would appear in the series.
Sometimes it is easier to experiment with character variations when focusing on just the silhouette rather than all the little details inside. This pictures are me experimenting with my earlier character.
So, in one of my classes this semester we are collaborating to create a short student film. We are not sure what it is going to be about yet, but we have been brainstorming. So far we have been interested in doing settings that are in outer space or under water. Given these possible settings, I've been doing some quick drawings to help come up with ideas.
I've been wanting to experiment with 3D printing for a long time. I decided to make this cute little narwhal as a test and had it printed at shapeways.com. If you want your own you could get one by clicking this link.
I was so sad when a robin flew into my window (probably drunk on fermented berries). I cried very hard because I was hoping it would be alive, but then I got my inks out because what better chance was I going to have to draw a beautiful bird being perfectly still. Consider this my obituary for you, little robin.
Sorry for the silence recently. School ended and I took a bit of time off to play the Bioshock series, but now I'm ready to get back to work. I do not usually do digital paintings, but I recently got a new tablet that I wanted to try out. So, naturally, I tried to make the ugliest unicorn that I could imagine. :)
In my Game Design class we have been collaborating to make a game called "Cthulhu Cop". I have been making animations and textures for the project. Here is a picture of a barrel and fluid container I textured that shows how many faces the objects are made of. The model was created by Jacob Augenstein and the original concept design was made by Matt Wydick. You should check out their sites!
For one of my classes I had to go through some of the gestures I have made and chose ones that were esthetically appealing. Then I took some gestures that were not as appealing and pushed the poses and the "straights against curves." The first picture is the one in which I revised my previous drawings.
